Shadowing Focus: Focus on unvoiced TH (/ฮธ/) sounds (through, threshold, throughput, Thursday) and article prominence.
1. Unvoiced TH (/ฮธ/) Mechanics
Keep the tongue tip lightly between your front teeth and blow air out. Do not vibrate your vocal cords. Practice: *"work through"*, *"threshold"*, *"throughput"*, *"Thursday"*.
2. Article Enforcement
Remember singular countable technical items need an article: *"the router"*, *"a firewall"*, *"the database"*. Don't drop them!
Review the rules from English File page 135 below. Look at the difference between ongoing duration (continuous) and completed count/result (simple).
โ๏ธ Standup Rule of Thumb:
- Use Continuous when telling the team what you have been doing (in progress, focuses on time spent):
๐ "I've been debugging the API since 10 AM." - Use Simple when telling the team how many items you completed (results):
๐ "I've refactored two modules so far." - Warning: Don't use continuous with non-action verbs (know, possess, belong).
๐ "I've known about the issue..." (Not: "I've been knowing...")
Click "Roll Sprint Board" to randomly select a task ticket and status requirements. ะฎัะธะน must explain his ticket status to the team, obeying the tense rules and recycling article enforcement!
Yuri is blocked by another team. You must explain the block using a First Conditional sentence (e.g. "If the network team doesn't configure X, I won't be able to...").
Examine the exercises from page 135 below. Fill in or answer them aloud with Yuri. Click each item to reveal the answer key.
๐ Quick Check Answer Key:

๐ Structure Reminders:
- For active verbs: *"How long have you been studying/learning...?"*
- For non-active verbs: *"How long have you known/had/been...?"*
- Response structure: *"I've been doing X since... / I've had Y for..."*
